What to Expect

Design Discovery

This is a conversation in which we listen as much for inspiration as design direction.

Our questions will start at 40,000 feet —Why this plane? Are we creating something completely new or adapting an existing design? Are there corporate colors or symbols you need to incorporate or avoid? How will you be using your aircraft?

Then we get to the good stuff— What did you picture when you first dreamed of owning a plane? Which words do people use to describe you or your company? What wild ideas have you been chewing on lately? Tell us more.

Conceptualization

We’ll begin with hand sketching to keep the designs fluid as we experiment with various styles based on what you shared in discovery.

When the bones are there, we’ll convert the sketches to computerized 2D or 3D illustrations to visualize various color combinations, stripes, and shapes as they would appear on your specific aircraft.

We’ll develop a variety of schemes for you to react to—from mild to wild, traditional to contemporary. Because you don’t always know what you want (or don’t want) until you see it.

Scheme Review

We believe in giving our clients time to reflect privately on the initial designs before asking for feedback or decisions.

So we’ll provide you with a link to a collection of 6 to 12 designs that you can study and share with others if you’d like.

No design is etched in stone unless it’s love at first sight. So go ahead and gather feedback and consider what revisions you’d like to see.

Feedback & Iteration

When you’re ready, we’ll schedule a feedback session where you’ll say things like, “I love this about # 3 and this about #9,” or “What if you reverse the colors and make the tip of the tail black?”

We make those changes —usually instantly—until you’re absolutely thrilled with the final scheme.

This can be an in-person or virtual session. Whichever works for you.

Final Scheme

When the scheme is perfect, we’ll create final production drawings that include everything your chosen paint shop needs to complete your aircraft’s unique paint scheme.

We consult your paint shop early in the design process, using chip books and spray-out samples from their preferred paint vendor for the most accurate color match.

And because we’re persoanlly invested in your satisfaction, phone support is available to you and your paint shop team until the paint is dry and you’re ready to fly.
