About

Different by Design

We’re creating a different kind of aviation design experience. One that creates space and time to perfect the vision together.  Where ideas are shared, expertise is valued, and design decisions are made solely on what’s best for each individual owner and their aircraft.

Where vision and expertise guide design. Design guides production. And the client comes first.

What Propels Us

Leading with Design

We’ve learned over the years that when you lead with design, you set the entire project up for success. Because everyone is operating from the same information—the same goal. Completion centers know precisely what you expect up-front so that they can provide more accurate quotes. And you know what questions to ask so you can make informed decisions.

Serving only the client’s interest

Design should never be dictated by quotas or production schedules. Because no one can give you their best work when they’re being squeezed into a box. As an independent aviation design studio, we’re free to use our design expertise and completion experience to give objective advice and guidance so that you can make the most of your design budget. We answer only to you.

Collaborating with others

No designer has the corner on good ideas. So we prefer a team approach that encourages both the design team and the client team to share their expertise. Cross-discipline collaboration always drives excellence, whether in concept generation, material selection, or design review. And excellence is always our goal.

Protecting your investment

To us, it’s not enough for your aircraft to just look good in a rendering.  The materials we recommend have to perform exceptionally well over time to protect your investment. Decades of working within the constraints of space, structure, and FAA regulations have sharpened our skills and taught us to check and double-check every decision and detail to avoid unnecessary risks, costly changes, or production delays.

Because we’re experts in aviation design.

You don’t have to be.

We’ll guide you through the design process and help you make smart, beautiful decisions along the way.

Aviation design pushes all of my “Designer buttons.” I get to collaborate in creating something uniquely personal, yet technically precise — designed around the people who will enjoy it.

Ken Reita

Ken Reita.

Owner and Creative Director

Ken Reita is the owner and principal designer of Completion Designers and he wants to give you more control.

Ken’s 25 years in aviation design taught him that when designers and clients have the freedom to explore design choices and make good decisions in the beginning, everyone is happier when the job is complete.

A multidisciplinary design leader adept in all phases of the design process, Ken has led hundreds of design projects on more than 20 different airframes. Bringing them in on time and on budget. His move to independent design grew from his desire to position designers in an owner support role, guiding clients through the design process and giving them more control over the results.

Get Ken talking about his work, and you can practically see his mind scrolling through decades of design projects, extracting wisdom on everything from the unexpected contradictions of sound absorption in aviation, to the long strand carpet fibers of New Zealand sheep’s wool and coffee’s corrosive (and costly) impact on galley panels. Ken is a designer who misses nothing.

Ken has been an aviation designer since 1997, holding positions as Senior Industrial Designer, Lead Interior Designer, Sales Engineer, Mechanical Designer, and Multi-media Designer at both OEMs and MRO centers. He holds a B.S. In Industrial Design and an M.S. in Industrial and Product Design.

Ken and his family live in a suburb of Indianapolis. A city that is considered one of the fastest-growing private aviation hubs in the country. He loves that Indiana attracts aviation and aerospace talent from across the world. But anytime Ken gets a chance to travel, he’s the first guy on the plane.
